A four-day search for missing Idaho hiker, Kyle Wimpenny, has come to an end as search and rescue crews have located his body. nvestigators said it appears he fell approximately 1,000 feet while attempting to summit Kings Peak.

Probably reached the summit and then fell in the dark on the way back down. It's way more difficult to balance while descending, especially with a heavy backpack throwing off your center of balance.

A friend from high-school lost his cousin when she fell from Yonah Mountain in Georgia. She was local and knew the topography. I didn't know her but for some reason I've never forgotten her story. Just a terrible accident.

Very sad. I knew this hike was a scramble in places, but I didn't realize there was this kind of exposure on Kings Peak.

Not to smart to let a friend continue up that hike alone when they had the sense to turn around. Or he was just to stubburn to do that type of hike by oneself. Maybe a experienced hiker but not to bright to try it alone.
