Everyone knows why Canada is like this now.

Across the country, the provincial governments' main solution to homelessness has been to excessively prolong and virtually make it impossible to evict non-paying etc. tenants, thereby dumping the responsibility for social housing on the private sector. The governments basically stopped building supported housing in the 90s, which has led to this acute shortage with the increase in population.

I keep hearing access to mental healthcare. That isnt the problem, you can go to a hospital at any time and get that care started. Its that they dont want to get that started, usually because they are addicted and caught in the cycle of getting money for drugs, than getting high, rinse, repeat. The care is there, its getting them to that point that is tough.

“One of the highest per capita homelessness rates in Canada?” Sadly, Victoria has by far the highest … and it’s not even close. I found it odd that you would show a number of lovely drone shots of the city from above, and not feature what is really happening on a downtown street like Pandora - it might have made your video much more effective.

Low income is not an excuse to turn into a drug addict.

The root cause is the war in Ukraine. This is causing high prices in all countries. Domino effect. The result is wars in poor countries, strikes in others countries, blame game in other countries etc. Fix the root cause and stabilize the world economy.
