AI Rendering for Architects (Revit + Veras)

In this video I will be exploring AI rendering for architects with EvolveLab Veras and Autodesk Revit. AI image creation is no longer a gimmick where you can make goofy photos or NFTs, it is now a new and incredibly useful tool in your design process. We all have books of inspirational works, idea boards, and our favorite projects or architects bookmarked. Imagine being able to iterate through your idea boards DIRECTLY in your Revit models…

At first knowing this tool, I wasn't so much attracted to it, but after your sincere explanation, I feel, that I need it as my design tool. Thank you very much!

Perfect for concept design, or even more preliminary, for inspirations.

Yes Yes Yes! the quicker we can advance this the better. The most useful future feature - export materials, etc into the existing model....

So incredible! I kind of like how you can pump up the creativity and have it just spit ideas at you too

I can see this benefiting designers especially at the concept design stage where you can use basic massing forms to generate 'artist's impressions' of urban places for example.

I also think when you make the prompt input more descriptive and short it works vetter. Your inputting complete lines, think of it as doing a google search. The prompts are attributes or keywords. The shorter the description the more precise it gets its input

Wonder why when you changed the prompts to horizontal but with the green environment, the outcome still showed vertical sideings. Yet when you removed the greeny, it did show correct siding.

Pretty Amazingg tool for concepting. One thing i did NOT de, is when you you have made some renders and switch your prompts, it would be nice if it saves the prompts per image. Because now if you want to itterste on an older image, you can not since that prompt input was not saved

Question: The Veras AI renderer does NOT use the geometry of the scene to create the renderings. It takes the edges from the actual viewport similar to preprocessors in stable diffusion, right? 2:08

Really excellent, helpful. The renderings, around 6:20, where you say "like this and like this" are very cool. Toy robot very interesting. Excellent point made about guiding AI; like with people, you can't just say people, you have to put people in, but then they did make them children. This is getting exciting. I was wondering about stuff like that, was wondering if you could just say the HDRI scene you want in the background, but maybe not. Pretty special to get words from Ben Guler and Bill Allen themselves.

I was really inspired by your video! It reminded me of another AI-based design tool I came across, known as Stylar ai. This web tool has a feel similar to Photoshop, offering features like architectural design styles, and it's more user-friendly. However, it's still quite basic and seems to be in a beta phase.

This is replacing rendering work, but it's not there quite yet. Eventually importing a 3D model from Revit, SketchUp, etc, we will have the ability to GUIDE the AI to do exactly what we want. That is where this is going. Eventually you will be able to edit specific groups and material sets immediately. This is huge.

Now if only I can get AI to help create the 3D models

When you create you revit model, you assign materials? or with the prompts you tell the AI what materials wants. excellent video

Than you for the video. The tips are great! Cheers

Pretty cool. Some ambiguity between description and guiding geometry. And it will be quite cool when it works in geometry, instead of just imagery. And it's probably not a big leap since its internal mental model probably has a sense of the geometry already. Although backsides could be a little tricky I guess.
