A bison gored and significantly injured an Arizona woman in Yellowstone National Park.

The attack happened Monday morning in a field near Lake Lodge on the north side of Lake Yellowstone, park officials said in a statement.

The 47-year-old woman from Phoenix was walking in the field with another person when they saw two bison. The people turned to walk away.

One of the bison then charged and gored the woman, causing significant injuries to her chest and abdomen.

This isnt the Bisons fault. Humans have zero respect for animals..

Its more like they walked up to the bison and was trying to take a selfie

It's the typical tourist situation in a national park.
This happens with Moose all the time in the north even on private properties.
Story is not a majestic mammals but hardly domestic.

I highly doubt that's how that went down.

What is it about a giant animal with horns that can run about 5-6 times faster than the fastest human and is all Hormonal and Edgy right now makes some people want to try their luck?

The bison charged for no reason? ... Um, it's a bison, not a philosopher. Animals are just animals. People are fools.

They need to leave that beautiful creature alone too. It's not his fault for human idiocy or getting too close to their ever encroached upon territory. I hope the Bison is OK

We need to stop calling them 'parks'; I think the term is beginning to confuse people. They are not places that are groomed, tamed, and safe. Let's call them 'wilderness areas' or something similar, so that people begin to develop the proper mindset before they go there.

As long as the bison is fine. Its a national park, it belongs to nature. So if nature decides to eat, trample, crush or drowned you. Thats its priviledge.

The people who try and get close to the animals in Yellowstone is constant problem. If she was doing this I have no sympathy for her. I've seen this when I go there. When you mess with the bull you can get the horns.

I doubt she walked away from it, if they were far enough away from it and we're walking away when it would not come back at them. More than likely she's either Walker right up on it spooking it and then ran away as it Chased her down. Or she acted like so many of these stupid people that go out there and say oh I'm going to walk up and pet it take a selfie, forgetting it's a wild animal and then they get mall but she did.

if she turned and walked away and was gored how then did the injuries happen to her chest and abdomen? Seems like it would have been the back and buttock that got gored.
