Nation standing together against COVID-19: PM Modi on BJP’s 40th foundation day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said India's efforts to combat coronavirus have set an example and it is among countries which understood the pandemic's seriousness and took various timely decisions to combat the virus. "We got to see our collective strength on Sunday evening," he said referring to the countrywide exercise to switch off lights and illuminate diyas for nine minutes to show India's collective strength to fight the deadly virus. Fight against coronavirus is no less than war, Modi said.

The Indian government is under pressure from both its Chinese counterpart and India’s powerful trading community and MSME sector, boasting sizeable influence on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, to take a rather sympathetic assessment of the situation to protect the business interest. The coronavirus outbreak is giving industry the jitters, especially sectors dependent on Chinese imports. China has already expressed hope that India will not put trade restrictions and limit movement of people in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic in its Hubei province and a few other parts of the country. The government’s response to such unusual suggestions is still not quite clear. It would be a big risk to the world’s second most populous nation, if India ignores the WHO protocol to just accommodate its trade with China. India should quickly diversify its import outlets to save its industry, consumers and economy from trade breakdown with a single partner such as China. This is the biggest challenge before the Modi government. India can’t and shouldn’t depend primarily on a single country for the import of any of its vital needs. Unfortunately, the government has done little to raise the capability of domestic production even of those items within its means. Increased dependence on API import from China raises national security concerns in times like this. Ironically, coronavirus has led to a big fall in the world crude oil prices as few oil-exporting countries are keen to trade with China for the present. We India need to light up a candle to awaken ourselves to stop depending on china for supply of goods :
your efforts to awaken India are praiseworthy, but we India are asleep with lack of action in respect of China, recently, there is an instance of Malaysia - Palm Oil imports but why our traders cannot decide similar hard stance in respect to import of Chinese goods, why our traders are dependent on China simply because of low costs with great margins to become rich .... this is further illustrated by another recent significant story of manufacturing of hydroxy-chloroquine by India pharmaceutical companies please refer to the article published by Business today next below in here: "Coronavirus: Trump calls Modi for hydroxychloroquine, but Indian makers at China's mercy - Coronavirus update: Over a hundred Indian companies are making or have the capability to produce finished drugs for malaria, but the APIs have to come from China, say sources" ....
therefore, the key challenge for we India is to wake up, light a candle to wake up to stop our dependence on China not only for this one drug manufacturing but light up candle to wake up to stop dependence on China across the board, ... when we India can do so in case of Malaysia a case of just one item -Palm oil imports then why we always fail in case of china to take determined resolve to teach a lesson to China ..
