The story started many years before. Konstantis and Lenio, 2 young people who love each other, living in this small city of Central Greece Amfissa. Konstantis was outside the city for work, trying to make money to buy her the wedding ring. As long as he was absent, Lenio was hitted from a thunder and died immediately. When he returned to Amfissa, Konstantis learned the bad news from his best friend. He couldn't stand this loss, so he committed suicide, falling from the top of Amfissa Castle. With his self killing, he wanted to find Lenio and live with her eternally. Orthodox religion doesn't accept self killing, so Konstantis turned into a spirit: "The Ghost Spirit of Harmaina" in Greek: "Το στοιχειό της Χάρμαινας"
After that, he was wandering at the streets of this small city, scaring the people with his strange voices and the sound of the chains in the ground. He was protecting the Fountain of Harmaina. He had fighting with the other Ghost Spirits who were protecting different neighborhoods of the small city of Amfissa, but he was always the winner. The story ends when after many decades, God forgave Konstantis so his spirit stops wandering.
This story was transferred from mouth to mouth, from the elderly people to the youngest. Since 1995 the Saturday of the last week of Greek Carnival, in this small city takes place the custom of representing this sad and almost unreal story. 4 short videos of mine is giving you the atmosphere of this event, an experience that everyone should live at least once in his lifetime!
