I don't even like Crinacle and his review style, nor his ranking list but there are many other reviewers who shill hard just because an item was sent to them or they have affiliate links. Yet you target crinacle since he is the biggest fish out there. Trying to make a living out of being a "critic".

The fact that you think you are thinking that producing reliable value and therefore criticizing people for buying crinacle's products or you're thinking that YOU are the cause for him to be banned.

Do you know what sound quality means? You have a sound signature (fr response) and the actual quality the transducer of that fr response pulls off.

It’s like a different kind of food (hamburger vs shrimps, bass heavy rolled off highs vs bright signature for example) and then you have the quality (is the meat old or fresh, is the treble texture harsh or smooth)

Well. Let me say something. No target can be perfect . In metal, the bad boy target is close to perfect. Reason in this days I record guitars as flat as it can be, then we use the bass guitar 2 dB higher than guitars, so when we strike one chord in guitar and bass, it sounds like the bass is coming from the guitar. Reason we change this way yo record is because in this days metal are very technical in guitars and is played in low strings in single notes more than in the 80s, so we don't want the drop notes to sound the same as the bass guitar and blend into crap the all track. Then, the kick drums should be the same as the bass guitar and the snare 1 dB up. That's the normal terms . Bands from the 80s, they recorded differently. And we need to realise that all instruments are tracked in multiple layers in these days and eq for that instrument only, only then we master the final result . Now, pink Floyd as you said it may be recorded with different headphones or monitors. It is impossible to get a perfect tuning in any iem. And when we have iem with one driver only. Even more hard to cha ge every frequency with only 1 driver using a dumper filter to change frequency . So that's the way. I recall that you like the etymotic as I recall, and etymotic is far away from a good tuning when comes from the low sub bass and mid bass. So it can read the total frequency. The best in this days is to recommend a iem for classic music and vocals tracks with less bass and tell reviewers to get something with more bass if they want rock and metal. And even bass head iem if they like hip hop. I don't like crinical because he slam down the fh3 fiio to talk about his iem eclipse when the fh3 sounds better. He was talking like he is the king. He lives in a country that he can go to any shop and test the iems ams graph them. I don't belive he owns 1000 iem like Is pretending to say. That's my final though as a musician and previous music producer. Enjoy buddy

re: BGGAR target, I agree it isn't so much his library, as simply his personal taste. The world is in two camps: FEEL bass as well as hear it, and hear bass only without any need to feel it. I need to FEEL bass, and I'm relatively sure I'm not whacko.

I got auto eq and tried Crinacle's eq graph for the KZ ZST and it sounded so horrible. I tried the RTINGS eq and it sounded so much better. I have no idea how two people could have such different results measuring the same thing.

why would you want to get Crinacle banned? I find his website with its graphs usefull. I don't reallly care about his reviews, but the graphs...

Audio listening is subjective. It may sound musical to some people but sound garbage to others. We have differents preferences or tastes, so it is OK to express our opinions. The bottom line is we are enjoying our hobby. :)

Harman OE is actually almost perfect. IE target needs work. Etymotic target needs a bass boost IMO but a bass shelf on IEMs doesn't work as well as it does on over ear headphones.

The diffused field target used with the hd800 / 800s, and most beyerdynamic headphones, sounds harsh and annoying.
I would certainly raise the bass 3 to 4 dbs above the diffused field target, in my opinion that target doesn't emulate real life at all, in real life reflections happen, in speakers world reflections happen, headphones need to account for that.
A mild bass shelf then moving downward before interfering with the midrange.
Continue stably after that, maintain 3 to 4 db less treble than the diffused field target, that thing can sound nasty like radio nasty.
Only the focal clear and utopia, and zmf verite, and stax( all stax ) can handle a diffused field-esque eq settings without sounding nasty, cause their dynamic contrast is great, it kinda makes the diffused field target tolerable, which is funny it supposed to sound real lol, the only thing it does it amplifies treble, and reflects more treble lol, as if you have hearing damage and what's funnier is its not a maintained treble elevation, it drops after the hills it created, as if the listener can't hear above 16 khz lol.
I noticed that the hd800s has an anemic sound due to the over exaggerated sound stage.
Beyerdynamics have harsh stingy sounds cause they lack dynamic contast severely, it's practically non existence, they compensate for it by raising treble lol.
Reduce the treble on let's say a t1 or dt880 and you will end up with a vieled headphone, cause the treble wasn't detailed to begin with, whatever it had got shot in your face with peaks.
Example of dynamic contrast is like comparing a TV with 100 million colors to a TV with 512 colors, both will approximate what color to appear on your screen.
The 100 million colors is the clear utopia and some other headphones like hi x-65 for example.
The 512 one is beyerdynamic lol, and most hifimans not all, cause the arya and edition x v2 sound great, the susvara doesn't sound bad at all but I don't like it's frequency response, it's capable technically it's great, but the frequency response isn't what I like.
Same for the utopia it's technically excellent but not what I want to hear.
Some other brands also mask their 512 color tvs and try to make them appear detailed or accurate example would be dan clark audio, and others ofcourse.
Recently I started testing driver's speed, which is the ability for a headphone to keep up with wild swings of complex tracks, at the micro second level, setting the thing up was a nightmare.
So I asked my friend to let me use the audio lab in their university.
The results were as I expected no surprises, fast driver's were always more detailed and capable, their frequency response can cripple them if it's too bad but the potential is there.
Slow headphones rely on FR trickery to mask their mediocre technicalities, a trained ear won't fall for that.
