Question for the community here, should I keep posting narratives from the songs posted on the channel? When I have done it, they've been notes for a book I'm writing, or for a dnd campaign I'm currently running. Though sometimes they're hard to find again, but I posted them in case anyone else here would enjoy them. Just a few likes or reply to this would convince me to do it, if it makes just a few happy, it's worth it. (Also, should I keep them themed too the book/dnd campaign, names have been random)

Thunder roared nearly as much as the three dragons summoned just moments ago, the Land between Worlds shaking as the giants were materialized behind Seto Kaiba. Before him, an old temple could be seen – and barring the way, nothing but the Duelist King of old.

”I should have known it came back to this Pharaoh – that we face once more. That the divine choose you to bar my path to them.”

Atem felt the conflict within himself, hoping that the coming could still be averted. “Kaiba, this is not how it’s supposed to be! The balance of the world cannot accept this to happen!” Yet the moment those words reached Kaiba, the progeny lost all pretense of cordiality in the face of this utmost farce.

“Don’t you *dare* tell me what should and shouldn’t be, you walking hypocrisy! You walked away from the real world that day in that damn tomb, resigning your title as its King. You wanted to leave this world behind, and that duel against little yugi was just the final fancy ritual in the script to make it all neat in the end, to be a proper send off to a King sob stories and all.” His wrath subsiding, Kaibas face reflected something that, for Atem, was even more painful to witness. Sorrow and loss seemed to dim down Seto in every way, as if a dark hue had been drawn like a veil over him.

“She was finally given a new chance, a new life outside that nether dimension she had been trapped in against the rules. She stumbled through that portal to my lab by chance as I entered for our previous duel in your court – just like little Yugi found you by accident. Mokuba was there to get medical treatment. It took me – us – a while to learn the truth. We had peace, happiness… And then, she was torn away again to the land of the dead where she should not be anymore along with my brother, and in her stead *you* of all people walk in the world of the living? What balance deems that the living and the dead must trade places against their will? What order sees it fit to sacrifice innocents and brothers at a whim? Tell me!”

Kaiba shouted loudly, a challenge to the Pharaoh as much as the divinity he was now serving. The storm around them halted in deafening silence, as if holding its breath for the Duelist King’s answer. “… Kaiba, I…” The Pharaoh paused there, unable to continue. The Duelist King had drawn a blank card. The silence lasted a moment before Kaiba stated what both sides had come to realize.


“You cannot. Not when it comes to justify living instead of them. Not when it comes to justifying why you finding about your past was right but mine was wrong. Not when you know the difference between power that is gifted to the one that is worked for.” Each statement cut Atem to the core. He could not answer. He, the one who had out-played Kaiba so many times, had now in turn been cornered. Checkmated. Defeated in all but name. The wind picked up, swirling around the duel arena ever faster – as if building up for the moment ahead.

“I rose this far up because of my own drive, drive to never let my brother down and to never be mistreated. Your “gods” dared to break the rules, so now I shall break them! They took them from me, so I shall take *EVERYTHING* from them!!”
