Lyrics:
I feel sun
Through the ashes in the sky.

Where’s the one
Who’ll guide us into the night.

What’s begun
Is the war that will force this divide.

What’s to come
Is fire and the end of time.

I am the one
Who can recount
What we’ve lost.

I am the one
Who will live on.

I have run
Through the fields
Of pain and sighs.

I have fought
To see the other side.

I am the one
Who can recount
What we’ve lost.

I am the one
Who will live on.

Of all the tavern songs, I bet this one was the only one that really stopped everyone in their tracks. Dragon Age: Origins was more than just a game, it was an experience.

The bards in most fantasy games have average voices. I was not expecting the beauty in these simple bard songs in Inquisition. Truly gorgeous and chillingly pleasant to the ear.

Heard this in-game and stopped dead in my tracks. Origins seemed so very far away but this brought it just a little closer.

In Peace, Vigilance. In War, Victory. In Death, Sacrifice.

Though I loved the original one with "elvish (?) lyrics ... but I was so pleasantly surprised hearing that one in the tavern the first time ... stopped, and just listened, remembering the days I spend with my wardens, saving Ferelden from the blight...beautiful, if only it was longer ^^

Once i've heard this during Inquisition i stopped playing for a bit and just stood there thinking of all the good memories i got from Origins. Helping Alistair get trough Duncan's Death, trying to talk Morrigan out of being so inconsiderate of others, Leliana slowly winning me over with her strong belief in the Maker and that in the end it will all turn out good, Wynne's willingness to sacrifice her last days to guide me in my quest, Oghren always acting all funny trying to hide how heartbroken he is over Branka... And so many great other things i could not even  fit into this post
I must say i don't think Origins will ever be topped as my favorite in the series, though i really appreciate bioware put in the effort to add this little nod to the past

It is so wholesome seeing so many comments of people shouting out their own Wardens. We may all have different walks in life - lord knows my Warden made some decisions a lot would disagree with - but Origins is still a game special to each and every one of us. This one's for you, Ryllis Aeducan, you troublemaker and hero.

*sheds manly tears*

This song always had a special place in my heart along with DA: O, when I first heard it in Inquisition it was in Val Royeaux, could have sworn it was in French too. Felt really good to hear it

After finishing the game, and listening to all the tavern songs, i get massive feels man. I have a feeling in 10 years from now when I listen back to all these songs, nostalgia will hit me hard.

I wonder how many people here haven't played Origins and haven't listened to the original version.

This one is for you, Naathia Tabris. You're a quick witted city elf who managed to save the world when no one believed you could, and rebuilt the Wardens with Alistair. Take care of him, because I was forced to make a big sacrifice for him to return to you.
And for you, Elina Hawke, who made the ultimate sacrifice to save the world from nightmares. You rose from nothing to become a legend, armed with no unique power or strength, just determination. I'm sorry I had to take you away from your adorable Merril, may you two meet in the Fade or Beyond.
And finally for you, Ataashi Adaar, the Tal-Vashoth who learned to believe in something other than herself when all hope had failed. Who could make the hard decisions and bear the weight of choice when others could not, and learn that the dawn will always come. Try not to cause too much trouble with Sera, she's a feisty one.

this is better than most popular songs on the radio.
