Intel's x86 architecture and ARM architecture are very different. Customers are usually either in one camp or the other. This is not like Intel vs AMD where both of the CPUs are all based on x86 and the difference is how they implement them. I can understand why Nvidia wanted to buy ARM to get into the CPU game as all the low-powered devices from IoT to Apple M2s and Grace-Hopper are all based on ARM and they could push more investment into ARM and make it the dominant architecture over x86, but Intel investing in ARM has me at a loss. Maybe someone can explain why Intel would do this?
