I used to work for Waymo as a fleet response specialist a couple years back. The car gets unstuck by itself most of the time. Otherwise, someone behind the curtain creates a virtual trajectory that the car will follow, based on pre established protocols and traffic rule precedence understanding. It's really elegant..❤

As a kid, driverless cars were one of the exciting high tech things we dreamed about having in the future. But for some reason as an adult living in the real world of the future, “autonomous vehicles” isn’t all that exciting..lol

I mean, to have a remote operator for your autonomous fleet to smooth out the bumps is very smart. I actually appreciate that, instead of sending it different directions or different codes, a mf can just plomp in a sim and bust a u-turn.
