For those who don’t understand, he is setting the ball in front of him, and above his forehead.

1. don’t carry
2. contact under the ball
3. avoid double touches
4. set above your head when back setting
this is all about how you contact the ball when setting. Super fundamental & no complicated explanation needed 😂 but really good to practice this 👍🏾

The only difference is your not carrying it that doesn’t help me as a beginner

beginner advice: simply set good. just don't set bad.

As a middle blocker I think the setter on the video is very skilled. It is very hard to tell from his hands Position, posture and legs If he is going to toss the Ball Front or back.

Many times setter has specific hands and body posture when they plan to toss the Ball behind. This is easy to read and react.

Really good video. 👍

Most obvious thing I can point out as an okay setter is his hand position. Elbows should be at ears which is actually very important. Without having your elbows there, its actually really hard to then have a good hand position which makes it hard to generate power with your wrist. If you set this way, it becomes very inefficient very quickly and you don't want that habit. With a good hand position (and ultimately whole posture), you are much more primed to generate power with your wrist. Using your elbows primarily for power can make your sets inconsistent and also makes it hard to get off a good set when for example you have to run for the ball and dont have familiar form.

In 1st set he carried it, in 2nd he yeeted it making it innacurate and badly timed + ig it would give time for enemy to block the spike and 3rd was gentle set that was accurate making it easier to spike the ball and gave less time for Defenders (idk if what im saying makes sense, im just trying to Understand what he's doing so i can get better at Volleyball)

Aye man whatever works, for that 2nd one if you have to set behind you because the ball is back there then might as well

The one thing that helps me is when you set take it slow dont keep on flicking the ball towards your hitter, it always result in the ref calling a bad set😂

This post doesn’t help any beginner if you don’t explain yourself. To beginners, those sets look practically the same.

Since i was young i used to know that in volleyball and basketball once you hit it with all of your strength it will be very bad and not be long, you have to hit it smoothly it will be very long without any efforts.

There's a clear difference, but I just don't know what the technique is since I don't know that much about volleyball

I’ve been playing volleyball for 10 years (setter for 6) and I do the second one a lot when I’m dealing with my teammates’ bad passes lmfao

Explanation:
Don’t keep the ball, flick immediately.
