My sister had Lewy Body Dementia! She suffered with it, for 7 years. Her first 4, were spent in her house, in Ridgefield, CT. She had round the clock caregivers. In the beginning, she hallucinated, and saw little green furry creatures. She became infirm, at the end of the first year. She walked around a little, but she started falling. Her last 3, were at sn assisted living facility, The Residence, in Darien, CT. At the end, she couldnt walk or talk. Lewy Body, is also part Parkinsons, so her hand would shake. Anyone, with family members, suffering with this disease, be prepared, it is fast acting, and destroys the body and mind quickly. I salute the medical staff, including caregivers and hospice, for taking such great care of my sister.

Today, a lot of discussion has started to happen regarding the close similarity of LBD to MSA. In fact, it is said that MSA also have a mutation of the alpha-synuclein. Wouldn’t that also place it under the umbrella of Lewy bodies Diseases? What is their differences and how would you confirm one over the other?
