The take that someone who can draw really fantastic often can't make good tattoos is totally right. I did sketches for friends, but when I should tried it on skin one minute was enough to break up the experiment 😅

The white ink didn't hurt any more than the rest of my tattoo. Its still visible 10 years later, albeit a bit less vibrant.

Two things: 1. I avoid too much coffee the day of a session or I will bleed. 2. I have a friend who is an amazing artist. I have commented that some of his art would make a cool tattoo and he told me right out that a great piece of art may not translate to a good, long lasting tattoo.

For the people that bleed a lot, the REASON for blood clotting is mostly contributed to vitamin k. So before getting tattooed, eat a bunch of leafy greens, a salad, handful of spinach/kale, whatever, (along with some sort of fat to help digest the fat soluble vitamin k) and you shouldn’t bleed as much. And instead your blood will clot faster & better than if you went to your tattoo appointment fasted or lacking/low in healthy, essential nutrients 👍

Context: I was a holistic nutritionist for years and have plenty of tattoos. Went into shock at 18 when I got my first tattoo fasted and learnt my lesson the hard and long way 😅

Learn from my mistakes, eat your greens before you ink your skins 🙌😂🥬

Tatoos ARE for only one group of people: those that want them

The reason white hurts the most is because usually it’s added to skin that’s already been tattooed as detail so it’s going over a raw skin essentially. If it was another colour it would still have the same effect depending on how detailed and skilled the tattoo artist is.

Bleeding often happening if you drink alcohol the drink before, taking certain supplements or medications, warfarin, think NSAIDs like aspirin, lots ibuprofen, fish oil, and, etc . Or have a medical conditions like clotting issues, that should be discussed with the artist and medical provider.

Work at the hospital 🏥
Piva it’s like EA here in Sweden. But for peaople in psychosis and who want to end their life. It’s a psychiatric clinic ( intense care ) . It’s hard to describe for people who mix psychiatric clinics. My unit is work in is “intense care “ ( I’m from Sweden so my English is trash. “ anyhow.

Tats are more common this days. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

I am a heavy bleeder and I always remind my artist because it is rare, but I don’t want him to be caught off guard. Also if you go to the same artist for all your work they will most likely give you a discount because they know you are a loyal customer. My artist normally charges $150usd in Texas but I only pay $100 he works on both my fiancé and myself and she has over 80 hours of work. Find someone and stay loyal it pays for both of you plus it no longer becomes small talk but deep conversations with a friend

Just don't get drunk before/ during the tattoo session.
Alcohol dilutes your blood (makes it thinner) which causes it to bleed more.
That makes the work of artist much harder and it also pushes some of the ink out which affects the quality.

yeah that tattoos heavily bleeding myth is true but it depends on a few things
1. the location; my curent partner has a neck tattoo and he says it bled heavily
2. how thick ur skin is; the thicker ur skin the deeper u have to go so u WILL bleed if u have thick skin
3. if you have scar tissue; if ur going over scar tissue u will more then likely bleed
me and my partner are currently working on my first tattoo, its a skull on my hip, the hip is boney so its likely to bleed AND i have very very thick skin and i have a self harm problem so my skin is mostly scar tissue. so we have to go a little at a time bc i bleed like a mofo

I remember when I visited my friend once, her boyfriend’s dad (they lived with his parents) learned I am in art major, so he wanted me to tattoo him. For free of course, and I should be the one who get machine for it, because “I had to have some friends who has them”. He felt offended when I declined, and my friend was angry at me, because “she promised him I will do it, and now she looks bad”. Let’s say we were no longer friends ☺️

I'm happy that my dermatologist cleared me to get tattoos because I have a skin condition, as long as the skin where the condition is, is left alone I'm good to get all the ink I want.

Yha as an artist I am aware and not delusional enough to tattoo someone. But I will however draw a little design for a frien

I get the impression that a lot of parlours take full advantage of first time tattoo customers landing them with an apprentice, not even offering a discount or informing them.

Personally my first tattoo didn't bleed at all but my second did so I always poke the area with a needle to check if it's sensitive before I get a tattoo

you bleed more if your drunk (alcohol thins the blood)

I think the outline hurts the most...by the time the color or fill in starts I feel very little.

My artist does some really good work and only charges 100$ per hour so yes good tattoo artists can also be pretty cheap also working on a half sleeve rn
