About the event
Expert insights on how to use circular strategies to future-proof the European machinery & equipment industry
The challenge
The machinery and equipment industry is at the forefront of the European green transition. Wind turbines and industrial pipelines, in particular, are experiencing a spike in demand while their production goals are challenged by often disruptive and volatile material value chains. To secure the industry's future, machinery and equipment producers must weave recycling, reuse and repurposing practices into their operations today.
The webinar
This webinar will present the outcomes of our collaboration, including circular trends and forecasts, as well as ways to address specific challenges in the green transition. Equipped with this knowledge, industry leaders will be able to reconcile profitability and sustainability goals while transitioning to a circular economy. It includes speakers from Circle Economy, Bain & Company and industry experts.
The collaboration between Circle Economy and Bain Company
To assist European companies in tackling these challenges, Circle Economy and Bain & Company conducted a study into circular opportunities for machinery and equipment producers. We estimated that modern wind turbines are only 30% circular, with many elements being largely unrecyclable. However, their recycling rates can increase, whereas new business models, such as Equipment as a Service, will further advance the industry's circularity. To facilitate this, we developed five circular strategies enabling a sustainable transition to circular business models and more resilient supply chains.
