Setting SKY+ Box Onto SINGLE FEED Mode

This video shows you how to set a Sky+HD box into single feed mode for when only one satellite cable can be connected to the Sky box itself.

This should be done so that the Sky box behaves as should do but please be aware that when you have the Sky box connected in single feed mode you will only be able to watch and record one programme at a time.

Livesaver! I'd left Sky a long time ago but still had the box. I also couldn't get all the Freeviews channels in my area for the free-to-air football. I was tearing my hair out with only having one input cable too. So simple in the end. Thank you!!!

I run an old HD+ box in single feed mode as without a subscription, the second input seeves no purpose anyway and having it connected just wastes a feed.

I guess that the difficulties in converting large apartment buildings and other multipoint ststems to Sky Q is good news for those of us who still use old Sky HD and HD+ boxes as FTA recievers as it means they should work for a while longer (and similarly that Freesat services are unlikely to be turned off imminently either). Both important considerations with the long-term future of terrestrial Freeview now under threat due to phone operators wanting the frequencies.

It also means that i can continue to use my Sky Gnome portable speaker for a while longer, which is a very cool piece of kit despite dating from 2006!

Thanks for this. Got my parents a smart tv for Christmas and there old sky lead has a single feed. Will try this tomorrow to connect the sky hd box up to it on a single feed.

Just stumbled across this looking for tips on Sky-Q. When it rains I loose certain channels and a lot of the others pixelate, just curious can I use my old Sat finder (used for the old sky & sky+ lnb’s) to align my dish with a wide and LNB as I suspect it was moved during strong winds?

I have a sky dmx890 box with no card, I have a dish outside and 2 cables from previous owner of home. Do I use this method to get freesat?

cant see the tv very well not a good angle sir... how do you pair card without subscription as im on free view for life package i have to ring sky up and it takes 1hr every time i turn box off for more than 4 weeks can i do it myself in the 0.0.1 select page please sir

Hi I have a skyHD box from an additional room and have moved to a property with an old sky dish that has two wires. I dont have the option in the menu for single feed mode and can't get a satellite signal. Any ideas? Has worked with a free sat box before.

I have 2 wires coming from an old Sky dish that I don't use anymore. I assume (if going to use Freesat) only one of those cables will carry a signal I can use? Would standard coax cable be used along with a F connector to connect it to the Freesat box since the wire has been cut from the outside, so I need to extend it.

Hi I've just came across this video. I previously had a sky+ hd box with 2 cables in bedroom. I have just changed the box to a smaller sky+ box but it only has one input for aerial. It keeps on saying no signal when I put either of old cables in. I also got a Y connector from eBay and this doesn't work either any help would be great thanks.
