Olivier GIROUD GOAL | FIFA PUSKAS AWARD 2017 WINNER

France forward Olivier Giroud scored with a scorpion kick to finish off a swift Arsenal counter attack. Alexis Sanchez curled in a cross from outside the penalty area on the left wing for Giroud, whose audacious, acrobatic effort hit off the crossbar before bulging the inside of Wayne Hennessey’s net.

Incredible goal. The flick to keep the move going in the transition is top class, he busts an absolute gut to get there, from one end of the pitch to the other, points to where he wants it, readjusts when the delivery is behind him, and somehow contorts to smash it in of the underside of the bar. A truly brilliant goal. He's said himself it was a "freak" goal, but he's being humble. To me, he meant to do what he did, they just don't always come off. Very happy that it's at least been nominated. Well played, Olivier.

You don't have to be an Arsenal Fan to love this rare goal. Ridiculously and shameful enough, British Sport Writer don't even think it's good enough to win Goal of the month and now people (without prejudice) that knows the game real well awarded it Goal of the Year. The same way top players get destroyed here in the premiership and end up being the best in other part of Europe. Well done Oliv-Gir. And Congratulation.
