Sled for ripping kumiko strips

This is the sled I designed to rip the thin strips needed to make kumiko. I originally shared this on Instagram. I’ll post a video explaining the various parts and how it works soon.

That setup is objectively great. What I like even more is the creative use of filming it in portrait. People poopoo the idea of shooting video is portrait, but you've just provided a great example of how it all depends on the subject. Brilliant video in content and production. Keep it up! 👍

I have uploaded a free sketchup file with referencing it was Matt‘s idea. I want to cut a bunsh of stripes and Matts Sled is a wonderful idea and i had to figure out how it works 😊

Hi Matt, just bought you kumiko book and been watching your videos. Curious as to the blade you use in your table saw for making these strips and those in the book (pg 64) I’m guessing a thin rip blade but wanted to ask. Thanks. Looking forward to my first kumiko!
