Reading is the best source to build vocabulary. Always make sure that you read with a dictionary so that you understand the meaning and usage of difficult words. Try to learn at least 5 good words a day and then use those words regularly in your writing and speaking because if you don't then you will gradually forget those words. Remember in order to score above 6.5 bands in IELTS you have to incorporate advanced vocabulary in your speaking and writing because correct yet simple English will get you maximum to 6.5 bands. Try to maintain a diary where you keep your set of good words and if possible try to sort these words by topic that will help a lot in the exam. Thank you.

Thanks for this useful tips! No doubt, most efficient way to learn vocabulary is: 1) learning in context (in sentences) 2)smart repeating (training short and long memory) 3) applying receiving knowledge.
