James Dolan, despite presiding over the worst run in Knicks history, had never not spent on this team. After watching his reign over these last 20+ years I noticed a pattern. It's not that he's an idiot, it's his loyalty. When you show this guy loyalty, he keeps you forever even if you're terrible at the job. i.e. Zeke, Mills. Dolan is a lot of things but his worst trait in business is admirable in life. He's loyal to the people loyal to him even to his own detriment. That's why I believe the Leon, Thibs, Brunson triumvirate will be here for a long time. Leon is not only good at his job, but he moves silent, and Dolan loves that. He's loyal to Dolan's decree. He took every single Penny available to him right now.
He secured the bag, if he gets hurt, and goes out like Isaiah Thomas or Dennis Schroder who both waited to get a bigger bag but got hurt and ended up with chump change then he’s a laughing stock, and the Knicks are the bad guys.
He will get a bigger bag later he also left money on the table for his teammates so they can stay together. All his teammates want to play for the Knicks, he made that a realistic possibility by taking all of his money now.

Once again Jalen Brunson didn’t leave any money on the table. That 113M was never on the table at the time he signed his contract. But he did make a winner and leadership move. Brunson comes from money he isn’t gonna spend it all now.
