Mr & Mrs Smith [2024] - Ending Scene

Just binged this show and was not anticipating to like it as much as I did. Traditionally, I would describe this as a cliffhanger and while I would like to see another season, it occurred to me that if they did end the show on this note, it’s almost a commentary on how relationships actually are in life. You never really know if it’s going to work out or not, you just decide it’s what you’re going to do and take a leap of faith. Jane doesn’t know if her relationship with John is going to work but she has made the decision to risk her own wellbeing to see if it does.

I love when John says “liar”, that’s how you know the truth serum wore off and they’re speaking genuinely to each other when they say they want kids and a future together

In the end: John’s plan was to wait and die so Jane could survive. Jane pivoted to shooting her way out and possibly dying to save John.

I’m so die hard for these two, I really hope we get a second season.

I thought it was a show about spies. I was wrong. It is a love story and how a relationship can evolve. And I loved it.

I was afraid it would take John bleeding out in order for Jane to show how much she loved John, however, I'm glad the conversation with the truth serum is what did it, as this fantastic scene would've been cliché. I think Jane 1 shot Jane 2 with her own gun, or Jane 2 missed Jane 1 and got shot with the one bullet afterwards.
The neighbor coincidentally revealed there's a doctor across the street, so that's where they're going if there's a season 2. Jane doesn't play when it comes to John. They got out 🙏🏾😫

it’s a beautiful touch and shows how far their relationship has progressed, the fact that jane asks john what his plan is and asks for his approval instead of just taking the lead and making him feel inferior like she usually did in the past

I really hope they do a season 2 and keep the same leads instead of a new story with different characters like some are suggesting…..i’ve been more invested in this show than any other show or movie ever, i think. Their relationship just seems so real.

Great ending just enough to keep you wanting more. My hypothesis on the outcome is that John shot the bad Jane with two shots and the good Jane finished her off with one shot. If you remember the bad John looked at the good John directly during the couples dinner. He told him the secret to getting out of any tough situation is to control your breath. The good John didn’t fully understand the meaning or significance of the advice but I believe he understood once he got shot, the good John I believe realized that advice was regarding if you got shot bad to control your breathing to make one last attempt to survive. I believe the bad John actually gave solid advice and maybe deep down wanted to see John and Jane survive. I think the good John lied to Jane about how many bullets he had left, and he is actually the one who initially shot the bad Jane. Remember the bad Jane had the machine gun and the shot is continuous and would not be a simple flare like a hand gun. I don’t think bad Jane got a shot off. This is me just giving my hypothesis. I probably wrong but I enjoy a good guess

I remember watching the Brangelina movie and absolutely hating it. I was skeptical about this series until I saw who was involved, then the trailer completely won me over. But none of that could have prepared me for just how good this series would be. One of the best shows I've seen in quite a while.

This show comes to show that not everyone has plot armor, and for our season 1 main Jane and John smith, they ultimately could not survive their season based on the news of today’s season 2 renewal. Let’s see if our next smiths last longer.

A theory that came to me was the idea that maybe when they are told to “terminate their smith” it really means to terminate the other smith family. This makes sense as HIHI is confirmed to be a godlike entity that knows what will happen before it happens, so it would make no sense for it to tell them to kill each other when it knows that neither would actually commit and when the other smiths are already tasked to do it. The other smiths are also the only other smiths in the show (I’m not counting the opening scene or the jungle tribe ones) so that’s why they are “their smiths”
