M4 Mac mini Base Model as a Main Editing Rig

I pile on effects and layers until the Mac mini gives up to price that the Base Model Apple M4 Mac mini, for 95% of all YouTube videos, is powerful enough to be your main editing rig.

In this video, I go through multiple tests, a 3 camera podcast setup, my own YouTube videos which are Multicam with b-roll and titles, and finally I keep piling on layers until the timeline quits.

I’ve been watching countless youtube videos on the M4 chips, this is definitely a sign that i’m gonna spend my money on a base M4 chip rather than a pro. I am a small youtuber but getting a “pro” chip doesn’t feel right for me now honestly after watching this video. It almost feels like a wake up call that I don’t deserve to use a Pro or Max chip yet.

People like us want to know, how smoothly the device performs under unusual stress.
As an video editor, those export times usually do not matter to me, cause I have enough time to submit the finished video.
But the ease to navigate the timeline while playing raw footage during editing is the real concern.

Such a great review. It shows exactly what is like to do real world video editing on the mac mini. This is 1000x more useful then a bunch of benchmark and spec vomit that most people do.
