The low-budget mic does a nice work for the price but Newman 🙌🙌🙌🤦🏿🎤 is sound super dope

What's interesting is the Manley sounded more dynamic and alive in solo, but the U87 sounded so much better in the context of a mix.

Great video. The Neuman U 87 has been the most used mic on all top artist recordings. It’s still the most requested mic by many top vocal artist.

The two 87s and the Manley sounded the best!

Maybe I am imagining things but the U87 sounded best with the WA as a distant second.
I didn't think I would like the Neumann but maybe you should invest:)

Great video! Loved the Mojave and the Manley - they were a bit warmer and smoother. U87 sounded nasally (as they do) 414 sounded thin.

My ear really enjoyed the Neumann. The others sounded too tinny or too nasally. I’m stuck with a budget $99 Shure mic, but I love it.

U87 sounds the clear best to my ears. The NT1A is amazing though!

I tried a blind listen for pre and post processing. The Manley was a consistent 3 stars for me. U87 jumped from 1 start to 3 stars after processing. Lastly, the NT1A (which I own several of) was a consistent 2.5 stars and was great for the basic overall tone IMO. Great video!

The Manley sounded better on the first two lines - reducing the nasal tone of the vocal pleasantly - whereas the U87 sounded better on the last two lines - reducing the the muddy low frequencies - The Manley is generally warmer sounding with less pronounced mids than the U87. The U87 can be extremely problematic for vocalists with a nasally tone. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the U87 for your voice. Maybe try Soyuz. Great vocals by the way:)

Good video great song! Proof, a cheap mic can do a great job. The success of your song will not be impacted by the difference between a $100 mic versus a $4, 000 mic. Producers are nuts arguing you need an expensive mic to be successful.

Hi Valentina, this is a beautiful song and, as always, a highly informative video. I use NT1A. I also use Townsend Labs Sphere L22 Modelling Microphone (UAD DLX). I find it a great-sounding microphone and the modeling works close to 80% of the original. Any thoughts about it?

All I can say is that if the performance is great from the beginning a $100 mic will sound amazing with the right mix!!! Ijs🤷🏽‍♂️

I liked the Neumann U87 on your voice. On second listen I liked the Neumann even more. For my ear a bit clearer in the highs than your Rode NT1A. Thought the AKG close but not as smooth as the Neuman. Mojive MA300 a bit closer to the Neuman but not as good. WA87 lost clearity with your voice (fuzzy sounding). With the Manley think your voice lost it's lighter feel; more low end didn't compliment. For me Neuman U87 was far better for your voice and the mix. I recently bought a Telefunken TF51 that I think compliments my voice.
