Difference Between Reverse Logistics & Green Logistics.

Sustainable development is all the development that fulfills the need of present generation without compromising the need of the future generation.
The Carbon Foot Print (CFP), environmental friendly SCM, Waste Management and efficient use of natural resources are the one part of Sustainable Development or Sustainability.
The Reverse Logistics and Green Logistics are the part of Sustainable Development.

One can define the Reverse Logistics as the process of planning, implementing and controlling the flow of raw material, in process inventory and finished goods from a manufacturer , distributor or use point to the point of recovery or to the point of proper disposal.

The Reverse Logistics basic theme is to recapture the value from the product or to reuse or recycle the product returned. One of the best example of the Reverse Logistics is soft drinks.

If one is using renewable energy like solar or wind energy in the warehouse or in facility then the Green Logistics is being followed.
If one is planning movement of material in an efficient implementation like effective utilization of container space, CBM or the weight capacity then again the Green Logistics is being followed.
Another approach if Efficient Packaging:
If one is using recycled packaging material and performed effective designing to reduce wastage then again the Green Logistics is being followed.
