The first records I ever had were my Dad's collection of Al. Sixty years later I still can sing along and smile.

I worked in a nursing home and one resident was named Josephine and she was a silent film actress. I used to sing this song to her when I was taking care of her. She couldn’t speak but she always smiled. ❤

Al Jolson! Simplemente espectacular.
Un deleite escuchar musica de calidad que perdurará por muchos años mas.
Es Febrero del 2025, y, aun hay quienes escuchamos musica tan extraordinaria de un gran cantante

I've been away from you a long time.
I never thought I'd miss you so.
Somehow I feel
Your love is real.
Near you I want to be.
The birds are singing it is song time.
The banjo's strumming soft and low.
I know that you
Yearn for me too.
Swannee, you're calling me.
Swanee, how I love you, how I love you
My dear old Swanee.
I give the world to be
Among the folks in D-I-X-I-E
Even though my mammy's
Waiting for me,
Praying for me
Down by the Swanee.
The folks up north will see me no more
When I get to that Swanee shore.
I miss the old folks at home.
Swanee, how I love you, how I love you
My dear old Swanee.
I give the world to be
Among the folks in D-I-X-I-E
Even though my mammy's
Waiting for me,
Praying for me
Down by the Swanee.
The folks up north will see me no more
When I get to that Swanee shore.

He was one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived. He had the rare ability to put his heart and his soul into every performance. This number is a prime example of that gift.

This is the gold standard of showmanship and entertainment. There were very few as great as Jolson.

This is definitely a great song it may not be rock or pop but a song does need to be a certain genre to be good just like this song proves. If I were feeling better I would be dancing 🕺 to this .
