So basically like most sciences. Networking is critical and you want to be doing it the entire time. You also want to be getting relevant experience, volunteering or otherwise as much as possible.

You can start volunteering during your bachelor's degree! That's how I got into my master's program one semester after I graduated

That is one way for sure if you want to purely do research but there is a boat load of opportunities with a bachelor's and ways to get in without a degree, but you still have to work your ass off either way 😂

i have always wanted to be a marine biologist. i was just wondering if you have to take scuba diving courses to become one. i wouldnt want to dive because the air pressure sometimes hurts me. i would much rather snorkel. so is it mandatory to take diving courses or is it just if thats what field you want to be in?
