In today's video I'll be showing you all the last 2 baby leachies (Rhacodactylus leachianus) to hatch in my reptile room for the 2020 season! These little cuties hug your fingers so I've been calling them finger geckos haha. I was lucky enough to catch them hatching so there is some pretty fun footage! Hope you enjoy!

Re gifting pets: as a surprise, NEVER. Only if the recipient knows it’s coming and is both excited for it and ready to care for the pet.

I think gifting a pet is ONLY ever acceptable when the recipient is aware of what they are getting, is prepared and knows how to take care of it, and actually wants it. Showing up to a friend's house for xmas or their birthday or whatever and giving them a pet right then and there is something I find to be completely uncalled for and probably even a little rude.

My sister has always wanted a snake so I told her like a month ago that I would get her a ball python for Christmas and I would buy the whole set up but I made her do all the research and tell me what items she needed and then I just bought them. Haven’t got the snake yet but she has everything she needs for it and I think that’s how pets should be gifted. There should be no surprise involved unless they want you to pick out the morph and surprise them with it or something. I recently bought a beardie and on Craigslist I kept coming across ads like “ISO reptile for my daughter for Christmas. Would take a bearded dragon, turtle, or maybe a gecko” like WHAT those are all such different animals with different care, you obviously don’t have any kind of enclosure or supplies if you’re fine with just any of those.

Congrats on the babies! If adult leachies are sock-puppets, these are finger-puppets! So wrinkley too <3
To answer the QOTD: No, unless the person is fully aware and prepared to receive the pet.

Awww the baby leaches are adorable, I wouldn't be able to choose which one to keep, a 'surprise pet gift' not a good idea unless you know 100% that the recipient will love & take superb care of the animal, great video 👍❤😁

Beautiful geckos! Love Rhacodactylus! Crazy how the largest gecko in the world starts as a little lizard like that. Awesome!

First!

Not that it matters ❤️

And about the question of the day

I think it’s okay to be gifted a pet if you’ve done your research for at least a month and if you are prepared to take care of it for the rest of its life and know what your doing.

This really made my day!

This is the content I require, the babies are so cute! :) Thanks for another great video. It was sick getting to meet you the other day!! Gifting pets is not okay unless it's discussed beforehand and the new owner is prepared for the commitment. Otherwise, the well being of the animal is in jeopardy if the new pet parent (even if they are well-meaning) doesn't understand the care requirements or commitment time-wise the new pet may take. Just give them a house plant instead!

No man thats Totally fine to sell them
1) you are a really great in this hobby so people can trust you (and you keep your animals really really nice )

2) for example i love breeding and have a lots of really cute babies but i have to sell them because i can’t care for so much animals and they go in goog new homes and this helps the hobby much i guess (think just of tarantula Babies they are too much )

3) of course we all have bill’s to pay because it’s a little bit expensive to keep a lot of animals and pretty normal
👍👍

i think that pets as gifts are ok, as long as the person gets all supplies and is prepared, but never wrap one. i would suggest getting them a few days before or after
