50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 Moon Landing

It's been 50 years since the U.S. launched Apollo 11, the first mission to land men on the moon.
On the morning of July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, onboard a Saturn V rocket.
Around 12 minutes later, the crew were in orbit around Earth. Three days later, they were orbiting the moon.
The Eagle landed in the Sea of Tranquility.
With more than half a billion people watching on television, Armstrong planted the first human foot on another world.
Aldrin joined Armstrong shortly. They spent the next two and a half hours collecting samples and taking photographs.
They left behind an American flag, a patch honoring the fallen Apollo 1 crew, and a plaque on one of Eagle's legs.

We were sent home from school to watch the moon landing and since I lived the closest to the school, all my school friends came to my house and we watched the moonlanding on our black and white Astor TV!
I will never forget that day, I was nearly 10 years old!

No one is asking this question. Why are they switching from color video to black and white? Also, has anyone ever seen the old show Flash Gordon? If so, doesn't the flame from the rocket look like the from Flash Gordon's rocket, lol? Did they gopro cameras back then? I ask because, the cameras on the side of the rocket was very vivid and when the separation occurred, that footage was vivid too. How did they get that footage back? Which studio, which location, was it filmed indoors or outside?
I know some say the desert but which desert precisely?
