Good question. I see it on some of these transaxles. If there is a vent it will be high on the transaxle and often found on the upper housing where the shifter goes into the transaxle. It normally has a metal rocker cap that lets the trans vent but prevents the entry of water and road dirt.

Do these transmissions have a vent valve? if so, where is it located? having a hard time trying to find it, replaced the oil on mine (a c154 very similar) and as I removed the pin to fill it up it let out some pressure, making me think it´s not venting properly. Great video, very informative and detailed.

Your videos are very informative. Can you tell me how much free play is acceptable at the shifter mechanism?

Hi, I've got a quick question regarding the shifter. I thought I had the shifter in neutral when removing it, it wasn't. So it had. A spring force on it, noticing that i quickly tightened and put in neutral for removal of the shifter. Since then I have noticed that shifting in to fifth gear, i can 'over-place' my shift knob, basically passing 5th Gear so to speak. Could i have caused that by not correctly putting it in neutral before removing the shifter? Or is there something else going on? I am also at the point of replacing my throw-out bearing since I have noticed a slight rattle noise at 3k rpm. Heard that it also could have something to do with input-shaft/fifth gear assembly. Any way to check if that is the case?

Sorry for the many questions but am a bit lost on what has been going on with my tranny
