First Day Of Homeschool 2021
Welcome back for another first day of school in our homeschool! We have officially launched our 5th year! I am so excited and so far, things seem to be working out. I will be updating and sharing more soon. I know many of you are still on thee fence and still knee deep in hard decisions. I hope that you all can find what you need to make the tough choices a little bit easier. This was also our inaugural Mom and Me Monday and I can't wait to share more about that with you guys soon.

I totally had to push off school a week later than planned because I was 100% *not* ready. 🙈 I spent the first week figuring out what I could take out of our morning basket because, being the over-zealous, over-excited homeschool mama that I am, I realized there was just no way we could fit it ALL in - even though I kind of want to, haha. These first few weeks are filled with lots of grace as we adjust to our new rhythm, but I’ve enjoyed getting back into our homeschooling routine so much!

We are entering our 6th week of the new year and we did slow start now we are completely in our routine. Our first day had bumps but we did most of our check list but my girls were mostly excited about organizing and opening new school supplies. My husband made them little art easels and got them new art supplies as a surprise since he works outside the home he wanted to spoil them a little. Good luck on your new school year !!!!

Hello from south of the border Texas lol! The public school starts this Monday! I withdrew her today from the public school system there was no way she’s going back with all this crazyness! Looking for a routine and got in the accelus academy! Hopefully all goes well

After watching your first video showing everything that you organized BEFORE you even started homeschooling, I was impressed! Then, seeing that you pushed through and still made learning work! You're winning! It might not be the way you envisioned, (I struggle hard with perfection) but you started and that's more important. Plus, it looked like the girls enjoyed themselves too. We won't start until next month. This will be our second year of secular homeschooling. I really appreciate the glimpse into what your day looked like. I find myself overwhelmed at times with how to actually execute all the ideas I find and want to implement. It's nice to see that it can be as simple as what you showed here. I'm definitely complicating things in my head. Loving your channel and looking forward to following along with you this year.

I school all year, but our official date for this year was July 12th. It was a disaster! The kids caught the stomach flu. I moved everything one day over and got back on track the next Monday.

I’m getting ready to order my Timberdoodle custom curriculum. Do you like the Skill Sharpener workbooks? I have the science and geography ones in my kit but debating on keeping them. My daughter is 4. How about the Here and There book? I did delete the 180 Days of Social Studies. The reviews were pretty bad. Do you mind sharing what was in your custom kit from Timberdoodle for your kindergartener? Thanks!

We started on Monday and are “easing” in with the basic subjects. It’s only our second year and first full one with an actually planned out first day. It went pretty well but I had low expectations. Definitely not Pinterest perfect at all. And we had our own meltdowns within the first week but we pulled it back together and finished everything we needed to in order to stay on track so I’m calling it a win despite our struggles 😊

That idea of perfection is so hard to let go of! We were planning on starting this upcoming Monday and things already blew up, for the better, though! Baby girl got accepted to a homeschooling public charter and now we are on their schedule. Starting 1 Sep and I'm relieved, because I was not ready for a Monday start! 😁

We are starting the last week of August because we are going on week trip the week before that. I didn't see starting before then. We have been completing AAR prereading and doing handwriting already just because my daughter enjoys it! I am in a panic about whether I got everything I should (I assumed I would do science and history for this age through living books...now I'm not sure I should have) and if what I got is the right thing. The math curriculum we got is a spiral curriculum. Now I wonder if we should have went with mastery. Just first time homeschooling jitters that I am about to ruin my child's future lol!
