6:01 I know. I know. I ought to be marvelling at all of the new and powerful tech. Yet, I love these Wendell moments. The expressions on the face of the Dell rep who then slowly moves away from Wendell. Priceless!

It's understandable that Nvidia is putting their most optimistic spin on the new tech, but the high velocity "move fast and break things" seems like it's also moving forward the time when the old Adam Smith paradigm of capital working together with labor is going to crash into a new model when it's just capital who don't need labor but they are suddenly confronted with millions of angry unemployed villagers with torches and pitchforks. I'm not opposed to the idea of automation that hikes productivity through the roof, but there has to be some kind of universal basic income funded by that productivity. Millions of displaced people aren't just going to voluntarily starve.

Its cool to see AI doing actual production tasks. However I also sense a bubble forming when people talk like anything can be powered by ai, when in reality its not.

This all just underlines how much NVIDIA has moved away from his gaming roots. GeForce has now become that unloved step son.

I wonder how long i'd be programming a Robot until it can cook a meal. And how often i'd have to follow it to the kitchen, "just in case an ingredient is missing, or not in the right place..." Come on Wendell....If you can't afford food because a robot took your job, you might also not be able to afford a Robot (that could do it).

I’m waiting for NVIDIA to introduce nPOWER (R), all Datacenter NVIDIA products only work if the electricity the systems get has an encoded DRM signal containing GPS and real time data of the datacenter’s location. Of course only to make sure AI export restrictions are enforced.

I am so not excited for any of this AI revolution. Big corporations are bad enough as they were, I don't think blasted with AI slop is going to yield the slightest bit of improvement, and will likely make everything even more mediocre...
