50 albums and no place for Simple Minds-New Gold Dream?

The rest of the world doesn't base an albums greatness on America's billboard lists. I think it's a good mix of music worldwide, Many great artists never chart in the US but are hugely popular overseas.
Split Enz definitely a top 50 1982 album, precursor to crowded house years later.

It's some critics opinions, mine would be different probably. That said, Kate Bush's The Dreaming is a masterpiece and her best record. XTCs English Settlement and The Fall, and Split Enz records are all perfect too.

These lists are ridiculous. I would have had The Clash at number 1, followed by Kate Bush. I also would have had Hiroshi Yoshimura in the top ten along with The Nightfly. I'm not sure I would have Thriller in my top half of the list. It's interesting from a historic standpoint, but it shouldn't be there just because it sold a lot.

Music is so subjective it is almost impossible to make a list especially when you mix genres. For me The Fall, The Cure, Iron Maiden and Split Enz is a more enjoyable listen to Thriller. I do like Thriller but there are at least 10 other albums From this year I would buy before it.

SPIN has always been wack! I had a sub to the magazine years ago, and it took me a while to realize how bad the mag was before I finally cancelled! Numerous reasons why they're wack.
