National Geographic Emerging Explorer and Adventurer of the Year Wasfia Nazreen doesn't just climb for the thrill; she climbs for a cause. The first Bangladeshi to scale the Seven Summits, Wasfia has made it her purpose to brave these climbs for the sake of something larger - for the women of Bangladesh. Lyrical and poetic, this short documentary, shot entirely on an iPhone 6S, is a reflective character portrait that takes us from the depths of Wasfia's struggles to the highest peaks on the planet, as we explore what it means to pursue the unknown.

I resonate with this woman's zest for life and desire to create more for herself through challenge and discipline. To free herself. This short film also reminds me of the Netflix documentary Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa, about the first Nepali woman to summit Mount Everest...and she went on to do it 10 times, then go on to do K2, to create a better life for her and her 2 daughters... all while working at a Connecticut Whole Foods in the meantime. Women are truly amazing.

Such a beautiful and mindful spirit and mind. She is a perfect example of the direction in which all of humanity, and all societies need to move towards. Mindfulness, love and beauty.

"When I look at a girl the first thing I see is hope and power within herself to choose her own destiny beside who she wants to be. She doesn't have to be a mountaineer, whatever the mountain is in her life empower her to climb it."

"This is where you taught how to speak without words, how to love without a touch, how to draw without chalk
This where you taught me how in silence, we can find each other, how in despair we can only be stronger"

So far the most beautiful thing I saw in 2016
Bless you and your journey I wish you all the best <3 <3 LOVE FROM JORDAN

"Climbing the mountain is more of a surrender rather than conquering...."
"This where you taught me how in silence, we can find each other, how in despair we can only be stronger"

Brilliant film. Loved it. Proud to be a BANGLADESHI!

Those who are complaining about not being shot on phone is missing the point entirely. Besides nowhere it mentions it was shot entirely on phone. And EVEN if that was true, nowadays phone quality are incredible and with professional quality touch of National Geographic editing it is entirely possible to make it real crisp.

Why do you guys let the small stuff bother you? Kindergarten mentality really for all the mighty and weighty projection on the internet.
