Thematic Apperception Test - TAT - PART 1

The Thematic Apperception Test, or TAT, is a type of projective test that involves describing ambiguous scenes. Popularly known as the "picture interpretation technique," it was developed by American psychologists Henry A. Murray and Christina D. Morgan at Harvard University in the 1930s.

The TAT involves showing people a series of picture cards depicting a variety of ambiguous characters (that may include men, women, and/or children), scenes, and situations.

Reflected in the mirror are the youth and old age of the same woman. In front of the mirror we see the story of a person as external spectators, but the young woman does not see the old woman (because she cannot see the future) while the old woman sees herself, because it was her in the past. The young woman is a little worried of what is to come, almost suspicious, while the old woman grins a little mockingly because she already knows everything that has happened in her life, and she makes fun of the fears she had when she was young . No results, the woman will live her life not being able to really know what she will become until she is old.

1. There’s this Twink that’s kind of annoyed, looking at someone sort of arguing, and this creepy old Grandma behind him, who he’s also annoyed by but not particularly terrified of which I would be.
2. I feel like this old Grandma has been following him around for a little while and he isn’t going to outright tell her to go away but he’s being very obvious about it but it isn’t working so he’s kind of just accepted to just going about his day-to-day life with this creepy Grandma
3. The Twink is obviously annoyed this creepy. Grandma keeps following him but he’s sort of excepted it by now and the Grandma is this like unknowable entity primarily there to observe.
4. Eventually, either the Twink snaps or manages to out maneuver, the old lady into getting away from her.

it seems like a scene that i remember in a snow white movie. well, its not manipulating, but i think it emphasizes jealousy in beauty. the old lady is very jealous to the young lady because of its beauty. so she is trying to talk bad behind her back and destroy her good image. thats what i sense on that picture. the way that the old lady is smiling means she has a bad intention, and the young lady not looking back means she had no idea whats going on behind. this is just on my own perspective only.
