Lyrics:
You’ve got a good heart
But I know it changes
A restless tide, untameable
You came my way
And I knew a storm could come too
You’d lift me high or let me fall
But I took your hand
Promised I’d withstand
Any blaze you blew my way
Cos something inside
It solidified
And I knew I’d always stay
You can build me up
You can tear me down
You can try but
I’m unbreakable
You can do your best
But I’ll stand the test
You’ll find that
I’m unshakeable
When the fire’s burned
When the wind has blown
When the water’s dried
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone
You say we’re perfect
A perfect family
You hold us close for the world to see
And when I say
You’re the only one I’ve ever loved
I mean those words truthfully
But I know
Without my son your love
could disappear
And no it isn’t fair
But I don’t care
Cos my love will still be here
You can build me up
You can tear me down
You can try but
I’m unbreakable
You can do your best
But I’ll stand the test
You’ll find that
I’m unshakeable
When the fire’s burned
The wind has blown
The water’s dried
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone
Soon I’ll have to go
I’ll never see him grow
But I hope my son will know
He’ll never be alone
Cos like a river runs dry
And leaves its scars behind
I’ll be by your side
Cos my love is set in stone
YEAAAAAHHHH
(with riffing)
You can build me up
You can tear me down
You can try but
I’m unbreakable
You can do your best
But I’ll stand the test
You’ll find that
I’m unshakeable
The fire’s burned
The wind has blown
The water’s dried
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone
Can’t break me
Can’t break me
Stone
Can’t break me
Can’t break me
Stone
You’ll still find stone
My heart of stone

I love this song. So much. Often when you hear people say "Heart of Stone" they mean cold, empty, and emotionless, but in this version "Heart of Stone" means that the love she feels for those around her is strong and permanent. It's set in stone and will withstand anything.

because i’m a history guru fun fact, she actually died 12 days after her son was born, not right after the birth (although both are still sad) AND they didn’t even know she was sick until the day before she died, she was a good actor.

This song sounds like it's easy to sing, but it isn't actually. Like, how can she slay all of those high notes.

The transition from this song to the next is the perfect textbook example of "Emotional Whiplash."

Okay. I just imagined this scene and got straight chills for about a minute.

So imagine the first half of the song is Jane and Henry going through the pregnancy hopeful.

And then at some point she ends up in a bed because she's too weak to move after losing so much energy from the pushing.

And then let's say Henry goes to talk to the midwife about having the baby removed by cutting because I'm pretty sure that's apparently what happened irl.

And then the procedure is done and she's dying and holding her son as she says,

"Soon I'll have to go, I'll never see him grow."

And etc.

And then Henry comes back and holds her hand and right before she belts that gorgeous note where there's a key change, you see her hand fall out of Henry's hand before the stage goes completely dark. (Let's say that happens at 3:49)

And then in this time, the singer gets out of the bed and takes whatever fake belly they're wearing off and is replaced by another person in the bed.

And when she belts the note for the key change, the lights come back on and she is standing in the front of the stage, singing to the audience with a spotlight.

At some point she ends up going over to the bed where her body is and watches Henry mourn while holding her son.

Big sad. The singer now represents the spirit of herself.

Boom. Chills

Edit: Hi me from the future 4/27/21. So I did some research afterwards and pretty sure she didn't get a C Section. Let's just say that instead of that, she gives birth successfully but ends up dying soon afterwards, with the hand scene still in.

So I realized something, each song from the characters have also meanings that can help.

No Way ; Catherine of Aragon
-her song can mean that no matter how much you are willing to sacrifice for the person/people you love, its either you won't get anything back or instead, speech of hate. And when they get too far, you decide that you won't do anything about it, and that everything they have done you will eventually come back to them.

In conclusion: karma's gonna come collect their debt.

Don't Lose Your Head ; Anne Boleyn
-her song can mean that when people expect you to do something you don't want to, you do it anyways but not in the way they want you to do it. And in the end when they get the bad luck, they will blame everything in you. But what were you meant to do anyway?

In conclusion: do things your own way, and shrug it off if people judge you for it.

Heart of Stone ; Jane Seymour
-her song can mean that even in the end, everything will have to come to pass. No matter how much you want the moment to remain, you'll have to eventually let go physically, but let the moment roam in you spiritually and mentally.

In conclusion: everything will come to an end someday, but your memory of it won't if you just cherish the moment so much.

Get Down ; Anna of Cleves
-her song can mean that even if you get dumped because of your looks, you dont have to change for other people because your demeanor is what matters most. "No stupid fat king to tell me what to do!"

In conclusion: be you, thats the greatest point of yourself you can ever be.

All You Wanna Do ; Kathryn Howard
-her song can mean that people are deceitful, and that they can break your trust with just a bad intention that would break you down, and eventually leave you in the dirt.

In conclusion: trust nobody until they can be truly trusted.

I Don't Need Your Love ; Catherine Parr
-her song can mean that even if you love a person so much, you'd have to possibly let them go for the better.

In conclusion: it will be you in the end, and youre gonna have to let go at some point.

I’m reading a book about Jane Seymour right now, and I don’t know how accurate of a portrayal it is, but it has her as such a nice and sweet hearted woman who also has no room for BS in her life. She never speaks bad about anyone, and she’s polite and kind and always has a smart comment to make

It took me a long time to figure up what songs this song reminded me of... It's a blend between Ashes - Celine Dion and Burn - Hamilton

I just realized: when she says "something inside, it solidified" it could mean her heart of "stone", but what if she was talking about her son growing inside her?
