Filipino BBQ Pork | With Sprite & Banana Ketchup! (EP.16)

Показать описание
What is happening everyone! Another food video is upon us. Welcome back to Episode 16 of Manny's Food Channel. For this episode, I made Filipino BBQ Pork using 2 ingredients that are out of the norm to put in a recipe. They are banana ketchup and sprite. I know what you might be thinking, but before you have any preconceived ideas about what it may taste like, I urge you all to try it for yourself, because as always it is straight forward to make and absolutely freaking delicious.
INGREDIENTS
1 kg Pork Belly/Pork Loin
3 Cloves of Garlic (grated)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
1/4 Calamansi or Lemon Juice
1/2 Cup Banana Ketchup
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1 Cup Sugar
1 222 ml can of Sprite
PREPARATION
1. Soak some bamboo sticks in cold water for at least half an hour.
2. In a large bowl, mix the garlic, salt/pepper, calamansi, banana ketchup, soy sauce and sprite.
3. Split the marinade and half and set one half aside.
5. Cut the pork into even sized cubes, add the pork to the sugarless marinade and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour (the longer it sits in the marinade, the more intensified flavor it will have).
6. Once the pork has marinated, skewer them on the bamboo sticks.
7. Cook the pork on the BBQ while turning them ever 2-3 minutes (charcoal BBQ is better for more intensified smokey flavor).
8. Once the pork is half cooked, brush all sides of the pork with the glaze and continue to do this step until the pork is cooked.
9. Serve with rice, pickled veg and enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed this video!
