Bermejos Malvasia Dulce

This sweet-ish wine from the Canary Islands is amazing. It's sweet but not thick or cloying. It has lovely acidity and just a hint of oxidization. It's like somewhere between a Manzanilla sherry and a sweet moscatel, but better than either! Bermejos is a little winery on the Canary Island of Lanzarote 120 km off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic. The vines grow in holes cut into the lava so that they can get into the soil underneath and also to protect them from the trade winds blowing across.
