Mena is so underrated. He’s such a good dancer; He actually looks like he's being controlled and it amazes me.

It’s pretty cool how they dressed him in white; everyone else is in colors and it really makes him stand out.

Ok the fact that Will Smith isn't actually controlling Mena Massoud and Mena himself is actually doing the dance is pretty litt, LIKE, THATS SO GOOD.

This live action was terrific and full of energy and amazing colors. I love how Disney didn’t have Jasmine wear her iconic teal-colored dress the entire time. She looks stunning in it here, but the pink and yellow outfits she wore throughout the film were gorgeous as well. The costume design was remarkable ❤

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the actor is actually a good dancer

Hi everyone! I study Kathak (Indian classical dance). The reason why people potentially perceive this choreography as Indian is possibly due to some cultural markers. They frequently use the Anjali Mudra (Namaste pose) throughout the choreography. Moreover, they also greet each other with an Adab pose (e.g. 0:50) which is an Indian muslim greeting.
The belly dancing (raqs sharqi) on the other hand is mostly associated with Arab/Middle Eastern culture. Apart from this, the choreography is mostly culturally ambiguous and therefore Orientalist (i.e. western construct of the East).

seeing this movie made me appreciate their culture a lot more it’s absolutely beautiful. The music, the dancing the dressing style it’s all so fascinating!

For everyone saying this is Indian dancing, it is not. They just put together moves that seem exotic.

This is my take. Agrabah was supposed to have its own culture that mixed Asian and Middle Eastern cultures into one. So it has elements of both Indian and Arabic dance choreography in the dance as well. You've also got to remember that you have actors in this who are of Egyptian, Arabic, Iranian, Tusinian and Indian descent. They're multicultural, therefore it's best to reflect that in the film as well.

6 months later and I still can't get over this scene! So epic.

This is by far the best live action of a disney movie. It was so good to watch.

Agrabah is a culturally ambiguous magical kingdom. I don't see the harm in creating in creating a hybrid culture for the films. People need to relax.

Gotta say Naomi Scott looks absolutely gorgeous as Jasmine. The costumes she wore are beautiful. The one thing in animation was they were simple whereas now with 3D animation you can put in little details but in live action they are pure works of art!!! Love the costumes so much for all the characters.

The dance is so good, the song, and I love it how Mena's acting is very underrated. It's like, hes being controlled by the Genie. And Mena's dance is so good, I'm shocked by it. It's logically so good! ♾️/10 just for this scene✨
