The actual truth is nine and dex are the producers of the beats and framework of the lyrics. Pete and Bas deliver it and add their touch to the lyrics. In live shows, the backing track is louder because they are old and don't have the breath control, but they still perform it the best they can. Obviously it sounds way better on the studio track because they can perfect it and do hundreds of takes.
