Great progress! Keeping the car at your house was a great decision. Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas in advance!

I was going to do the same on my trans tunnel panel, but was thinking about putting the rivnuts on the sides instead of the top. Now I'm rethinking that a bit. Having them on top will hold the panel down better. Thanks for sharing.

Do you plan on putting some type of insulating strips between the structure tubing and the alu plates? You talked about sound deadening. I figured a lightweight option would be to have thin pieces of rubber or whatever material seems logical to you -maybe the same silicon you plan on using for seams- (cheap, easy to work with and replace when deteriorated years down the line) sandwiched in there to muffle vibration. I'm thinking also some type of rubberized coating on the underside/ "outside" of the panels, as in the side opposite to the one in the cabin. You'd then have less material needed inside the car, especially with that fine synthetic dust from things like glass fibers or whatever they use now for sound deadening layers. Cork could be an option too. Just putting it out there. I'm no expert but I spend a bit of time thinking about that stuff since I am stripping the interior of my car and would like to have some way to quieten it down using less cumbersome and nobler materials with simple tricks like light carpet on the underside, in the wheel wells. It'll also protect the metal. My 2 cent. Enjoy the build!
