Randy, I will say this about 4WD rigs. I was driving a cheap Suzuki XL-7 on Cooper tires. It snowed several inches, went up Novelty Hill in Redmond, WA. Passed several cars & SUV's with big price tags and "Advertising status." Got into my neighborhood, Redmond Ridge, and a Land Rover is stuck in the middle of the road. I stopped and asked them if they needed help. Speaking from occasional experience with the group, the East Indian software engineer looked at me indignantly and said, " No." I said "Okay, " then proceeded to do a donut around him and head home.

my wifes uncle has a fj and never has a problem. but ive seen a k5 with bad tires get stuck and seen a grand am be unstoppable with new ones. tires make a world of difference. so you cant really go by someone else in one cause they may have bad tires cant drive or may even have a problem with the driveline. in fact a similar comparison my 04 chevy had new at tires and would back up without spinning in snow where a tahoe with ht tires spun out. realistically the tahoe with more weight in the back should go better but did not because it couldnt dig like my truck with a better tire choice.
