I Made The SMALLEST Virtual Production Studio!

Antilatency sent me their tracking system to try out. This video is my attempt to set up a full virtual production studio in my small home office. I hope to create virtual production short films with Unreal Engine in this space so really want this to work. I was not paid in any way for this video and any opinions I hold are my own.

I really do wish Unreal Engine's composure plugin was a bit more intuitive but I'm getting the hang of it. I may cover it in a future video so I can explain any difficulties I had. In the meantime this video helped me out a lot with bringing my tracked camera and green screen footage composited together in unreal.

Composure Tutorial:

Overall setting everything up in the video took a while so I dont dive too deep into any single element. Im keen to know which parts you might want me to dig deeper into for future content. Please let me know in the comments.

Dude that's some great lighting work on this tiny space!

Good to hear someone actually break things down

Shame I can only like this video once! Outstanding demonstration for something that is incredibly technical (maybe not for you 😆) I'm sure your viewers will take a great deal from this

Man i cant wait to lay hands on an anti latency system and do some serious magic.
This is so nicely done. Youre totally correct about the importance of lighting matching, im honestly surprised how its obvious that many people dont get that simple logic right.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks for showing that it can be done in a small space 😎

Brooo!!!
I just tried doing this in my bedroom. The only issue was the camera tracking. That was pain in the ass.! But I’m still troubleshooting, once it gets rolling I’ll have a damn good short film and no one will ever know I made that in a freaking bedroom.
You are such an inspiration for this brother 🎉

Great stuff! I remember doing it with my ipad and it was a nightmare lol. Composure is a little finicky but the latency can be fixed within. Unfortunately I have given up on virtual setups as its just too costly to do it where I am from, with only the bigger companies having monopoly over the VP industry here. I have mostly return back to CG/3D work, but I still watch your stuff cause you have proven the impossible and with the knowledge you provided, hope to try it out myself someday. Looking forward to your next video!

fantastic video! i’ve been keen on experimenting more with virtual production, but the barrier to entry to get everything running has always seemed too complex.
massive thanks friend

Great video! I’ve been curious about using antilantency, but some people tell me it doesn’t work with my mocap system. This video makes me want to take another look into it though!

This is a great guide. I've been wanting to also set something like this up in a small space, so I'm excited to get this going. Thanks for the video!

Great work mate, I think this kind of set up is brilliant! Can’t wait to see what you get up to with it.

Good work! If you want, you could paint the walls green and then use your green screen on the floor to get a full greenscreen room. Keep up the hard work. Excited to see what else you do.

I have almost the same room setup (maybe a little less) with a ceiling height of 2.5 meters ) I'm testing Aximmetry and trying out Virtual Production but with Vive Pro. Thanks for the video and good luck with filmmaking!

At 6:40 when you say that you could use a greenscreen floor, I think isn’t a good idea as you would block the trackers 😅

Other than that, great video!
