Ottawa police make arrests as city gears up for Canada Day weekend

Four people were arrested on Thursday after a procession was led into the city of Ottawa by former army reservist James Topp. He had been charged in February after speaking out against vaccine mandates.

Some time after Topp delivered remarks, police said they responded to a situation in the area and arrested the four people over incidents they said included assaulting officers.

Kyle Benning has more details and how the city has prepared for further convoy protests, and the hundreds of thousands coming to enjoy the Canada Day festivities.

I was at the War Memorial waiting for James Topp. Nothing but peaceful, loving moms & dads standing up for the future of their children. I travelled from California to take part in this historic event of welcoming a national hero.
So sad about the coverage by the national news networks that focused on arrests made ( which I did not witness) instead of focusing on the accomplishment of this true Canadian hero.
