i can see how they could use this origin with some changes. he could be a twin brother of tony stark who was sold to an orphanage where he was found and adopted by a witch of agatha coven who was also married to a rich billionaire. both parents are killed in the same manner as tony starks and thus dr doom roigin begins like tony starks.
