This is a short about a Total Front Yard Transformation that we did with Yardzen, this included the Front Yard, Side Yard and Driveway. We poured the concrete, set the Decomposed Granite, the gravel, vinyl gate installation, and all of the plants.

It should be required that all yards in drought-heavy states have drought resistant plants. It makes no sense to take a state like Arizona and try to make it as green as Ireland.

So jealous, can’t wait for my $250 water bill and several wasted summer weekends mowing my a** off! 😅

Drought tolerant shouldn’t make the heat and drought worse. Hard surfaces that trap or reflect heat aren’t good.

There’s plenty of plants that could be used in this landscape.

Trees provide shade lowering the surrounding temps and break up compacted soil allowing water to soak into the ground instead of running off into the street.

A number of ground covers and shrubs such as creeping thyme and Texas or Russia sage are drought tolerant. Also providing shade and color. They’d don’t reflect nearly as much heat as hard surfaces
