Something to add to whether or not a progressive can win Florida: There's a pretty decent chance nothing really matters. Gillium and Nelson were two very different Democrats, one running as a progressive, the other as a moderate. In the end, their difference in margins was tiny. Even Nikki Fried only came slighly, marginally ahead of the both of them and only by about 0.2%.

With that in mind, it makes sense to vote for whom you want to vote for, as opposed to fearing who may or may not be able to win. There's a decent chance polarization has gotten past the point where messaging really matters so much as identity and ideology.

Just have to point out that within a month of firing the parliamentarian, Jim Jeffords switched parties to join the Democrats, effectively handing them control of the chamber. This was one factor of many, but simply writing firing the parliamentarian as NBD politically doesn't seem accurate.

Those who work in medicine have to separate what is said privately and what is said publicly. I cannot share the conversations and directions and prescriptions I provide to my patients with anyone but the patient or those involved in the patient's care (if they're referred to a specialist, for example)

The right needs to get off this private/public speech thing. Otherwise all that will happen is that they'll pull the conversation there and off of the really important discussions.
