Even though it looks like a difficult and dangerous journey to the hotel, it’s probably still easier than navigating the way to the toilets in a Wetherspoon pub 😂

My claustrophobia won't let me go here. But I'm glad I could explore it via this video.

I can`t begin to imagine the logistics of creating that hotel down there; imagine someone just thought "Oh there`s an old, disused somewhat dodgy mine down there; I know, let`s build a hotel!" Massive respect to everyone who was adventurous (or crazy) enough to stay there though, wow Tim, amazing!! Once again congrats on the 250, 000 subs!!

Tim I absolutely LOVED this video it made me cry of emotion, as I use to live in Tanygrisau growing up as a child and it brought back so many memories. I've walked up that hill hundreds of times, and sat around that very lake for hours on end. Most of my childhood memories are of this area. When I was there the house you got kit up in was derelict, and I have a photo of myself as a child in there with sheep! Our house was right by the entranceway near the car park. Seeing it after all these years, hardly anything having changed, was so surreal. I showed the video to my parents last night and we watched it twice through, they loved it too. Thank you so much for doing this video 🙏

Wow! The accommodation looked super cosy but my, I couldn’t believe that descent! I thought the initial tunnel was bad enough but then you were virtually caving. You’re a brave man, Tim. I couldn’t cope with that. Very claustrophobic.

Imagine being the cleaner and being told on your first day that you need to hike down a mine everyday 😊

I couldn’t stop thinking about panicking to get out, then realising that it would take hours….😰

I'm always amazed that people used to work in these places. I know they didn't have much choice but imagine waking up every morning knowing this was your work day for pretty much all of your life

This is not for the weak of heart. They need elevators for us seniors. Your room needed a porta potty. We'll never be able to see this, so this was great to watch.

Back in the 80s, I stayed down an underground limestone mine (more properly called a "Quarry") with some friends. We used to explore the mines every weekend with a group of friends. These are situated near the villages of Box and Corsham, in Wiltshire. We actually slept in bivvy bags and small tents. On this one occasion, we stayed overnight. Strange noises were the worst thing .... mostly from the sound of water dripping from the roof down onto various rocks puddles, but the imagination running wild made sleep difficult. Unlike Tim's experience, we had to put up with extremely high humidity, approaching 90%. Occasionally, we could hear the unsettling sound of trains passing through the famous Box Tunnel which was only a few hundred feet from our location.

Hells bells Tim, what a brave man you are. You couldn't get me down there for anything, that has to be the most unusual place that you have stayed. Did Miles stay there for days on end? 🤔Those slate miners deserve more recognition for what they had to do, amazing, thank you 😊

Nope, not for me 😂😂 . I'd be scared of the roof caving in!

That was quite a journey to get to the actual hotel part and quite laborious and dangerous! The hotel part, definitely more basic facilities with everything in a bag, literally! Guessing you won't be making this an annual visit. Very brave of you Tim!

This is incredible! What's even more mindblowing is the fact that someone's had to get all that furniture down there, that must've been painstakingly difficult

I just keep thinking about how difficult it would be to get all the furniture and equipment down the cave especially for things that don't bend or fold like the matresses

What an adventure. My mind boggles thinking of how they got all that stuff down there to do this! Also quite sad to think of how those miners from yesteryear had to work in such conditions so far underground. You never cease to amaze me with your imaginative places to stay Tim. Would have loved for Gaby to have done it too...I can only imagine her comments on that descent into the mine!!😃
