And while I'm usually not that into musical numbers in the middle of my movies...these are up there with Encanto, and A Star is Born. Well done everyone.

6/25/22: Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jennifer Lopez, and everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect it, but I have to, once again mention, ‘cause I have before, that Jennifer is such a good talent in many ways, but personally I get sick and tired of her doing movies where she looks (and acts) the same way, you know, like from what we see her on the red carpet of ANY premiere, or in magazines, or any given talk show. Okay? She basically plays the same characters of someone who’s in love, or who is about to fall in love, or someone who has lost love, etc. The list goes on. From the beginning of any movie she’s been in so far, they’re predictable. (My favorite movie of hers was “Maid in Manhattan”. Her character was so real and she played it to the hilt!) Anyway, she’s older now and I really want to see her doing something “MEATY”, a character like the scripts Meryl Streep gets, where she doesn’t have to be so pretty (we all know that she is already), and made up all the damn time, where the script is shit kicking, and mysterious, and intense, and vibrant, where, if she played such a role that she could sink her teeth into, that we’d be blown away because, WHAT??, we fans would question, was that Jennifer Lopez we just saw play that part…WOW?!! To reiterate, I LOVE Jennifer Lopez as a performer, but, you see, like that “Church” scene in this movie, we could have caught her doing that anywhere on stage in a show in Vegas. The movie, to date, hasn’t made much money, but if the right opportunity came her way, and I hope it does, she’d kick ass and be nominated for an Academy Award and I’d be there applauding her every step of the way!! I love her, but I want more for and from her in her career. No disrespect. Te quiero, Jennifer. (And I’m a PR originally from the Bronx too!)

This so weird.

Last night I had a dream in which I met a famous woman, an actress. I don't remember how we met, but we started a relationship as acquaintances. It didn't go further than that because I felt that she was too good for me. Then I woke up.

The day after the dream, I was flipping through the cable channels and I found this movie. It felt weird because of a couple of coincidences in the life of Owen Wilson's character and myself:
1) I was an elementary school teacher, specialized in Math and Science.
2) My students loved me.
3) My last name is Gilbert.

However, I've never been married, and I don't have a daughter. But in my dream, the actress had a six year old son and a four year old daughter.
And I didn't get the happy ending that Mr. Gilbert in the movie got.

Still, weird set of coincidences.
