Music Box Dancer - Frank Mills - Piano Cover + Sheet Music

What a cute little song. Music Box Dancer was released by Canadian musician Frank Mills in 1979 and became an international hit. It's such a cute little song and I added a celesta sound on the GB1K Disklavier over the piano for this so we get the ‘music box’ effect. Sounds pretty. This is in the original key of C# Major - probably my least favorite key.

Again, no sheet music used for this - just my interpretation of listening to the song and following the track.

Music Box Dancer brings back happy memories, before life got complicated. To this day enjoy listening to this song. My youngest son, bought me a music box that played this tune. Unfortunately, the music box just stopped working. So glad I search for this piano version on You Tube and there is was right before my eyes. Thanks for sharing.

My first memories. My mother was a world class pianist.

When this song was popular I was 19 going on 20, and recovering from Major Depression and PTSD with amnesia. From 5th grade till my sophomore year of college, I knew something bad had happened to me and believed it was all my fault. But I had almost no memory of what this bad thing was. The Lord used this beautiful song to open my memory, remember the abuse from that evil woman who happened to be one of my 5th grade teachers, to realize that it wasn't my fault, and to recover. By the Grace of God, I was able to live a normal life.

This is my childhood. The neighborhood ice cream truck played a version of this when I was growing up. Such a pretty song.

Just discovered this. Lost a dear friend not long ago who could play this, and everything from Donna Summer to hymns at church when he was 12 years old way back in the day. He went through his country band phase, his rock n roll phase, and wedding player days. Once the IPod became a thing, all he needed was to listen to one minute of a song he had never heard, and he was ready to go.

As far as I know, he never played from sheet music except for a brief time in college when he took lessons from a classical pianist. He showed up at one of the greatest Family Christmases we ever enjoyed in 2007, and he sat down at an untuned piano and played Christmas carols for hours. I miss him.

Such a charming little tune. It reminds me of my childhood. Today, I heard the ice cream truck playing it, so I looked it up.

Soo beautiful, this is the first time I’ve ever heard it. My young daughters were next to me and one of them said “it sounds like sunshine”… 🥹 ☀️

This is the most wonderful composition of modern day music. Well done!

Thank you for keeping it in the original key of C# major instead of doing it in C like practically everyone else.
