The video completely glossed over the folks evicted to build Central Park. It was a community of mostly African Americans called Seneca Village. It was prosperous and the people owned their land. I looked hard to find out what happened to them, but there don't seem to be any records available. It appears that they were dispersed after their village was taken by eminent domain. I also couldn't find if they were properly compensated.

I visited Central Park in 1972 it was in the spring and an endless stream of bicyclist rode past, followed by a dozen police officers on horseback galloping noisily. I can confess I was tripping. it was a beautiful experience I was right next to Park Avenue
